Lots To Say And No Time To Say It

'Would love to ramble endlessly - particularly about the absolute nonsense that the left is coming up with in response to Scott Walker's significant election win in Wisconsin. 'No time...and other's are covering the issue quite well. As the pendulum clearly swings to the right I find it a pity that it can't settle there or at least hover somewhere in the middle (as it often did). When (I know, if) Romney wins the presidency, we will hear no end of the lunatics' cries of fascism. What total idiots. You had your chance...now, go away.

Everyone has a different opinion...That of course doesn't mean that stupid, or even popular, ideas are miraculously wise.

When a dynamic flourishing culture finds itself in decline or rapid death, it's a tragedy. When it deliberately makes the choices and follow the actions that make such an outcome inevitable, it's merely pathetic.

Europe's “revolutions” seem to always be mere attempts to determine who their next monarch will be -- hardly hallmarks of revolution. People can whine all they want about the American president at any given time but at least citizens of the U.S. actually have an opportunity to vote for their preferred candidate.

Disobey the 40% ! (My rough estimate of the percentage of the American population – it's surely much more in many other countries – that wishes to dictate values, lifestyles, and standards of living to the rest of society). This figure usually includes “educators,” academics, intellectuals, journalists, bureaucrats, the professional political class, and garden variety control freaks. And yes, it also includes a small contingent of religious fundamentalists and retrograde nationalists).

Great leaders may not be great speakers, but they know what to say. If they actually do what they speak of successfully then they get extra points.
